TRINITY VALLEY SCHOOL WELCOMES

NEW FACULTY & STAFF 2019-2020

DANIEL AUDI, Middle School Spanish Instructor Mr. Audi majored in government and politics with a minor in Spanish at the University of Maryland before earning his M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction at Tarleton State University. He taught high-school Spanish at Dunbar High School and ESL students at the University of Texas at Arlington. Most recently, he taught 7th through 9th graders at Bedford Junior High School, where he also served as department chair.

ROBIN BURROUGHS, Upper School Mathematics Originally an aspiring architect who received her degree from Texas A&M University, Mrs. Burroughs began teaching math at Crosstimbers Academy where she also wrote curriculum and taught Principles of Architecture and Construction. Since then, she has taught mathematics at Southwest High School, and most recently at Paschal High School.

ELIZABETH CARLOCK, Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Mrs. Carlock earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas A&M University and her master’s in secondary science from Colorado College. She originally taught high-school science, but has been teaching younger students at Museum School in Fort Worth for the past seven years. She is involved in the community through her church and National Charity League.

ALISON GEE, Third Grade Mrs. Gee earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a special education endorsement from Valparaiso University. She began her teaching career in Cairo, Egypt, and then moved to Washington, D.C. where she taught first and second grades. She has taught first and third grades at Fort Worth Country Day since 2011. In her time at FWCD, she served on the division head’s search team, curriculum committee, faculty education committee, and kindergarten admissions team.


REGAN GILSTRAP, Assistant Director of Admissions Mrs. Gilstrap is a 13-year TVS student and a graduate of the Class of 2001. She received a BBA in international business with a minor in Spanish from the University of Georgia. Later she earned her MBA (marketing specialty) from TCU. Her career has included fundraising/advancement positions as well as serving as the associate director of marketing and external affairs for the Texas A&M University School of Law in Fort Worth. Most recently, she has been director of special projects at McDonald Law Firm.

SARA KOOIMAN, Third Grade Originally from Fort Collins, Colorado, Mrs. Kooiman earned her degree from Northern Arizona University. She comes to us from Fort Worth Academy, where she has taught kindergarten as well as second and third grades. A competitive swimmer, she taught track and field at Fort Worth Academy in addition to teaching. She is a Schools Attuned - All Kinds of Minds Educator, and Certified Self-Regulated Strategy Development Writing Instructor.

TOSHA MORALES, Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach Ms. Morales comes to TVS from Judson High School in Converse, TX, where she has coached for two years. During her tenure at Judson, the girls’ basketball team won the 6A state title. Previously, she coached in San Antonio’s Northside ISD. Ms. Morales also has taught P.E. at the elementary and middle-school levels. She holds a bachelor’s in kinesiology from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

ANNA ROSS, Student Support Coordinator With a master’s from SMU in reading and ESL and undergraduate degree in English education, Ms. Ross has taught for 13 years, the last eight of which at Lake Country Christian School. Most recently, she developed the ASPIRE program, which provides instructional support for students and teachers. While managing the ASPIRE staff, she oversaw educational accommodations for middle- and high-school students and shepherded the related College Board and ACT processes.

AMANDA STREETMAN, Lower School Assistant

Librarian

Mrs. Streetman began her teaching career as a middle-school teacher. She taught kindergarten at Seven Hills Elementary School, and then in Plano ISD. She most recently taught in the Aledo Independent School District where she also worked in the library. She earned her master’s degree from Texas A&M University - Commerce in educational technology library science in 2017.


NICOLE TOMME, First Grade A two-time teacher of the year, Mrs. Tomme has her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has spent her career in kindergarten and first grade. She began her career at J.A. Hargrave Elementary, and most recently was at North Hi Mount Elementary where she also directed the school talent show, led the house system, created the Teacher Compliment Program, and developed their school-wide behavior incentive program.

RUBY WANG, Upper School Chinese Mrs. Wang has one master’s degree in linguistics and another in teaching English, both from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her PhD in curriculum and instruction from the University of North Texas is in process. She has taught at the college level at the University of Texas at Arlington and at TCU. In addition to Chinese, at TCU she has taught Chinese Culture in Films, Chinese Calligraphy, and Confucianism. She also has served as the student advisor for a number of different Chinese cultural activities.

ZINA WORMLEY, Associate Director of College

Counseling

Originally from Fort Worth, Mrs. Wormley comes to us from the Keystone School in San Antonio. She started her career in college admissions at LSU and then Tulane. She moved to UNC, Chapel Hill, where she eventually became the senior assistant director of admissions. She then spent five years at Trinity University as assistant director of admissions. Her husband has been named Associate Provost for Research and Dean of Graduate Studies at TCU, and we are excited to have the Wormleys’ two children join us as well.

LAUREN ZITO, Kindergarten Assistant Mrs. Zito has her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from TCU and began her career as a kindergarten teacher at Woodway Elementary. She then worked in Denver as an early childhood special educator before returning to Fort Worth, where she has been the activity coordinator for Cook Children’s Medical Center.
